To the proverbial question, If you could take just one wine to a desert island, what would it be? Many zealous wine lovers answer instantaneously : Burgundy.

It’s not just that the best Burgundies – Bourgognes in French – are extraordinary wines, it is that a great Burgundy elicits 2 things most other wines don’t: emotion and intrigue. You never get bored, wines are full of surprise although they all come from the only 2 grapes allowed in Burgundy: Pinot Noir for the reds and Chardonnay for the whites. What makes them different? Just the place where they come from, the village or just a single little plot. In French, they call that the “terroir”

During that evening, we will taste wines coming from various parts of Burgundy from North to South, going from village to village with iconic names such as: Pommard, Meursault, Chambolle Musigny …
