A sparkling night in Champagne

A full discovery of the sparkling and still wines from Champagne

As a native of Champagne, in a family of wine growers, every Sunday was the family lunch. It was out of question to drink something else than … champagnes. Instead of having just a single style, like we mostly do, my Dad was always pairing a specific champagne on each part of the meal. Don’t forget, Champagne isn’t only about sparkling, we also produce excellent still red wines made of Pinot Noir, called Côteaux Champenois.

The evening will be fully dedicated to the Champagne region with a typical traditional meal – the famous Pôtée champenoise, the local cheeses and to finish with, the biscuit rose.

Geraldine was born in Champagne in a family of wine growers.

She organizes  informal wine classes, always served with a homemade dinner at her place, in the heart of the 16th arrondissement. The classes are limited to 12 people to be able to create a warm and friendly atmosphere.

What you will learn during the tasting

Professional but not intimidating, Géraldine’s classes promise a better understanding of the world of champagne

Wine Tasting techniques: how to taste champagne properly- the 3 “s” rule: See, Smell, Sip. Learn useful vocabulary when describing champagne
The characteristics of Champagne:   the grapes, the soils and the climate
Appreciate the quality of the wine: Balance, complexity and length

…. and, of course, the most important: share quality wine tasting experiences in an enjoyable, educational, yet social setting!
